Join music director Eric Mahl, lead soprano Sarah Joyce Cooper, and Colby College Professor Eric Thomas at the Northeast Harbor Library for a community-based interactive preview of our upcoming performances! Learn all about the music, the drama (on and offstage), and the story behind the score. You’ll also get to learn about the different specialists who come together to put on a show. Come for the cookies and lemonade, stay for the music! This event is free, open to the public, and appropriate for all ages.

Opera returns to Bar Harbor with a raucous and fresh retelling of one of opera’s greatest romantic comedies, Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore (The Elixir of Love). This immersive experience, produced by Sarah Joyce Cooper and Eric Mahl and Directed by Marshall Hughes, brings love, gangsters, hilarity and joy to the Criterion theater this summer as we travel back into the 1930s.
